Video Series: BES-Net First Trialogue on Pollinators in Eastern Europe

The first Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network (BES-Net) Trialogue was held in Sarajevo in October 2017 to reach a common agenda for action around pollinators in Eastern Europe as the driver to foster links between ecosystem services, agriculture and rural development in the region. The BES-Net Trialogue provides a constructive space for the three communities of policymakers, scientists and practitioners to learn together and fostering inter-cultural understanding and interinstitutional coordination around biodiversity and ecosystem issues of common concern.

The team developed four videos that talk about reaching a common agenda for action around pollinators in Eastern Europe as the driver in fostering links between ecosystem services, agriculture and rural development in the region. Click the link below to access the video:

This video discusses the decline of pollinators, the importance of pollination for food security, and how stakeholders from science, policy and practice in Eastern Europe are applying global assessment findings to regional action.

The video discusses the shared challenges in pollinator conservation across five Eastern European countries, emphasizing the importance of policy adoption, sustainable pesticide use and knowledge implementation to improve pollinator protection and support rural development.

This video discusses the importance of protecting pollinators in Eastern Europe, highlighting the pressures on nature from economic transitions and the need for sustainable practices to safeguard biodiversity, food security and rural livelihoods.

This video explores the global decline of pollinators and the need to integrate biodiversity conservation into agriculture, tourism and rural development, emphasizing policy actions and legislative measures to protect pollination services in Eastern Europe.
