The Dominican Republic launched its national ecosystem assessment process on 29 September 2021. The project will conduct a comprehensive and critical review of existing knowledge on selected ecosystems to address key questions formulated to guide the assessment process.
In the country, the implementation of the project "Developing the Capacity for National Ecosystem Assessment, linking Policy, Science, and Practice (NEA-RD)" has begun. This project aims to generate a national assessment of the condition and trends of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the country, as well as the interrelationships between these and the Dominican population.
