Many of the Strategy’s actions are about expanding food, shelter and nest sites across all types of land so that our 1500 pollinator species can survive and thrive. These actions are supported by our Call to Action – Bees’ Needs: Food and a Home – launched in July 2014 (www.beesneeds.org.uk). This outlines a series of simple things people can do to help pollinators find food and shelter. Our focus on ‘food and a home’ is based on evidence that loss of good quality natural and semi-natural habitats that feed and shelter pollinators has been a key driver of change to their populations.
