Since the project of Wuyishan National Park System Pilot Area was launched in June 2016, Fujian Province has adhered to the reform thinking of natural protected areas and carried out the innovation concept, to promote the construction of Wuyishan National Park System Pilot Area. This paper has provided an overview of the progress of Wuyishan National Park System Pilot Area in various aspects, including management system and operation mechanism, ecological protection and restoration, natural resources supervision, community development and public education. It can be concluded that the construction of Wuyishan National Park System Pilot Area has remarkable achievements. The fragmentation problem of overlapping and multi-management has been effectively solved, the authenticity and integrity of natural ecosystems have been effectively protected, and a new mode of natural ecosystem protection has been basically formed in the pilot area.
