This paper is presented an agent-based model of the surface energy balance for a particular location in the Arctic, NY-˚Alesund. We used some basic physics equations that determined the behavior of individual components of the model: short-wave radiation, long-wave radiation, heat transference within the soil, snow melting, and albedo. These equations evolve through time on a seasonal and diurnal basis, giving place to an emerging complex behavior due to the agent’s interaction between themselves, other agents, and the environment. |
