A public goods model of global biodiversity conservation is exposited. Distinguishing features of global biodiversity conservation tasks are identified. The global efficiency of biodiversity conservation is discussed and some comparative statics of efficient programs are provided. The transfers required from high-existence-value, low-conservation-productivity nations to low-existence-value, high-conservation-productivity nations, to realize global efficiency in conservation effort, are analyzed.
