Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is home to breathtaking landscapes, from deep river canyons to dense forests teeming with life. With over 350 species of birds, 6,100 terrestrial invertebrates and rare endemic flora, the country’s biodiversity is remarkable. However, these rich ecosystems face growing pressure from habitat loss, pollution and climate change.
This set of infographics presents insights from the national ecosystem assessment of BiH, revealing how nature sustains livelihoods, regulates the environment and supports local communities. It explores the state of biodiversity, key environmental challenges and the policies needed to secure a sustainable future.
