The SVPA works with staff and volunteers to maintain public access infrastructure such as trails, kiosks, boardwalks, and interpretive materials. The SVPA assists with stewardship tasks such as boundary posting, removal of non-native invasive plants and legal compliance monitoring in accordance with Land Trust Alliance standards. The SVPA may participate in fire management activities, including assisting with prescribed burns, preparing fire lines, and post-burn monitoring. The SVPA coordinates and supervises large-scale volunteer events such as watershed clean-ups, invasive species management and species monitoring. They also assist with development of community engagement projects and may process forms and prepare reports regarding the volunteer program.
