The Spring 2022 SERO intern will be responsible for advancing our research work in the Pigeon River Gorge. This includes analyzing data from our 2-year research project. Additionally, this position may require attending stakeholder meetings and assisting with other projects, as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements (i.e., education, technical skills):
Desired skills include experience deploying camera traps in remote settings. Map & compass navigation skills, and familiarity with GPS technology. Management of camera trap photos. Microsoft Office skills. Advocacy skills are preferred. Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required. Mileage compensation provided for field work.
Describe the tangible deliverables (projects, outcomes) that will be achieved:
At the conclusion of the internship, the selected candidate will provide a comprehensive report on the status of our camera trapping efforts. In addition, our image database will be reorganized to include metadata for further analysis.
