Description

Rainforest Alliance is looking for a pro-active, strategic, and collaborative senior manager Europe that will lead the Human Resources function in Europe (ca 190 FTE) within our global organisation. You translate and operationalise with the local HR team the global people strategies to our staff and organisation in Europe. You also will play a substantial role in transforming, co-designing, and implementing the global HR strategy and the development of new tools, policies, and interventions. For the Europe region you will be advising and supporting (senior) management about all HR related subjects. You will be part of the global HR team, report to the HR Director Operations and will work together with your international (HR) colleagues and (Senior) Management, based in The Netherlands and abroad. This role is combined with business partnering to senior leaders in our organisation. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Netherlands-based HR and facilities staff ensuring adherence to defined practices, policies and objectives.
  • Adjust and implement the global HR agenda and strategies to the Europe region.
  • Work with the HR Director Operations and the HR team to strengthen the working culture and staff engagement.
  • Support staff in our office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and staff based in other European countries
  • Alongside other business partners, and under the guidance of the Chief People Officer, drive the People strategy and Coordination of several strategic activities and projects across the global organization
  • Act as an HR strategic business partner to 1-2 senior leaders; advising and supporting them to ensure alignment between functional/business objectives and global HR agendas;
  • Be the first point of contact for the Works Council in the Netherlands and ensure, together with the legal counsel, that RA is complying with the Dutch Works Council law.
  • Adapt global talent management initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational objectives that focus on the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment engagement, retention, performance management, and training & development;
  • Identify, analyse and report out on relevant key performance indicators and trends and develop solutions;
  • Administer staff learning and development activities and performance management cycles, ensuring that these are implemented against established schedules and plans to support the work of the RA;
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues within certain portfolios; conduct effective investigations with responsibility for difficult and sensitive information;
  • Build effective networks with internal colleagues and external service providers and consultants in support of the design and delivery of HR projects, overseeing delivery against contracts; and
  • Other duties, as assigned.
