WCMC is looking for an experienced, qualified and proven leader to manage the Centre’s strategy on marine and coastal biodiversity. The current priorities for the Centre’s strategy to support the transition to a healthy ocean are focused on spatial data of biodiversity relevance, ecosystem service assessment, decision support tools and areas beyond national jurisdiction. Maintaining close and effective relationships with the Senior Management Team, you will participate in the Centre’s strategic planning and will lead the development of a portfolio of projects in line with this.

The role is global in remit and requires engagement with the international ocean science-policy-society community. The role is framed by the UNEP-WCMC Strategy and Business Plan which places the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean as an organisational priority. As Principal Specialist in Marine Conservation and Management, you will lead fundraising efforts and partnership building to support this priority.
