The Media & Public Relations Manager works to develop and implement media and public relations tactics to help drive organizational strategy. They develop and foster relations with key stakeholders, partners, and media contacts to manage the dissemination of information and stories. They inform and help develop speeches, key messages, and talking points, as needed. They help to facilitate ongoing communication between all parts of the globally dispersed marketing division, internal and external stakeholders and identify communication and media needs and opportunities. Compensation for this role begins at $65,000 and maybe commensurate with skills and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Manage media contact relationships, craft media stories and find opportunities to pitch stories to appropriate outlets.
- Manage engagements with key individuals and organizations that result in increased brand awareness, and thought leadership with both the public and private sector, agencies, institutions, corporate partners, donors, decision makers, etc.
- Manage assigned budget, evaluate results and develop recommendations for corrective strategies as needed.
- Responsibility and accountability for meeting project goals and objectives.
- Resolves complex issues independently within the program area.
