Reporting to the Global Director, Institutional Relations, the Research Manager will be part of a well-established and successful team of institutional fundraising professionals. With ambitious funding goals and an ambition to deepen public-private partnerships, Rainforest Alliance is seeking a full-time professional research manager to provide deep research into public sector donors, foundations, and corporations. The Research Manager, IR will conduct multi-source research, capture and analyze donor landscapes, and understand and monitor the public commitments to RA-aligned impact priorities made by private sector, public agencies, professional foundations, and other new giving vehicles as identified.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and scope the funding landscape to identify potential opportunities for Rainforest Alliance and contribute to building a solid pipeline of viable, high-value, Public Private Partnership opportunities;
• Lead research on multiple streams of funding – publicly reported corporate ESG commitments, institutional donor agendas, professional foundations, and newly-created philanthropic and pre-competitive industry funding vehicles;
• Advise on donor trends related to climate, biodiversity, and livelihoods, ensuring RA fundraising efforts track to current funding trends;
• Provide market intelligence, anticipate trends and insights to inform prospect pipeline development;
• Conduct due diligence on potential new corporate partners and provide risk analysis; and
• Create and maintain detailed donor and prospect profiles that include research and analysis of the prospect for use by the development department, program and markets teams, executive leadership, and the board of directors.
