The digital campaigner will engage a diverse public from Latin America with climate activism, by telling compelling stories about our campaigns and the broad grassroots movement working to break the links between our institutions and the fossil fuel industry. The person will develop and execute digital strategies for 350.org’s Latin American campaigns as well as to implement regional digital strategies in alignment with global digital objectives
The main responsibilities for this role are:
- Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate digital campaign plans and strategies, taking into account 350.org’s campaign goals;
- Use digital strategies and tools to pressurise campaign targets and achieve campaign goals;
- Establish and manage cyber-activists to meet 350.org’s national-level campaign objectives and build a broader, deeper and more committed movement;
- Facilitate digital campaigning workshops and leadership development for climate change campaigners;
- Identify opportunities and implement strategic online campaigns to grow 350.org’s audience and mailing list, and increase engagement;
- Content production, management and updating of the Portuguese and Spanish website of 350.org;
- Manage and monitor all social media channels, publishing engaging and compelling content, in relation to campaign plans,
- Craft emails and other web content to support campaigns in 350.org voice.
Public Engagement:
- Understand 350.org’s history, campaigns, and theory of social change, and keep updated with basic climate science and policy. From time to time, use this knowledge to represent 350.org’s perspective in varied public venues based on geographic location and areas of expertise
