The Director of Conservation in NH is an accomplished conservation leader and proven manager who is responsible for directing, coordinating and overseeing TNC’s conservation strategy and initiatives with a diverse communities and organizations.
The Director of Conservation a systems-thinker and leads a team of highly skilled professionals to develop, deliver, and scale durable conservation initiatives that advance our vision of creating a resilient and sustainable future for people and nature, with a focus on conserving priority landscapes and watersheds, within the context of TNC’s New Hampshire Chapter, Northeast Division, and Global priorities. They provide conservation and partnership leadership; facilitate development of high-level strategy focusing on systems and scale; foster diversity, equity, inclusion and justice in conservation practice; evaluate program effectiveness; resource and empower staff; and communicate and coordinate to ensure results. The Director serves as a key liaison with state, federal, NGO and science partners, and works collaboratively with colleagues across many of TNC’s programs.
The Director of Conservation (DoC) is a member of the chapter’s leadership team and is supervised by the New Hampshire Chapter State Director.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- BA/BS degree and 7 years’ experience in conservation practice or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation.
- Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners. .
- Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance..
- Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies. .
- Experience negotiating.
- Ability to travel frequently (primarily within New Hampshire) and a valid driver’s license.
