POSITION SUMMARY 

This position is part of the Partner Engagement team and contributes to building alliances with businesses and other strategic partners to promote and recognize corporate commitment to conservation, drive Conservation International’s brand objectives, and secure investments to support Conservation International’s work around the globe.

The Regional Director will identify, cultivate, solicite and steward new corporate prospects and partners contributing to Conservation International’s global priorities, achieving specific short and long-term goals, and growing the brand portfolio to meet yearly and multi-year revenue and brand targets in the Americas, including the development of a partnership strategy in close collaboration with Conservation International’s global Brand and Communications and the Americas teams. This role will oversee a portfolio of partnerships with leading national and multi-national corporations and philanthropic corporate foundations focused on the Americas and will deliver on our brand and partnership goals in close collaboration with specialized and global cross-functional teams.

The Regional Director, Corporate Partnerships represents the organization externally and works with senior staff and regional staff throughout Conservation International to help achieve the annual and long-term fundraising goals of the organization with a focus on the Americas. This position reports to the Americas Senior Vice president and CFO of the Americas Field Divison with a dotted line to the Vice President of Corporate Partner Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the VP of Partner Marketing and the SVP, Americas Field Division to develop Conservation International’s partner marketing work including advancing vision and strategy, developing annual revenue targets for the Americas, and supporting the global communicators and fundraisers.
  • Participate in the development of annual and multi-year revenue projections, ensuring timelines are set and milestones are reached
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals for Conservation International and our partners.
  • Forge relationships with corporate executives and influencers in the sustainable business and environmental industry that will help increase Conservation International’s brand awareness and impact in the conservation world in the Americas.
  • Collaborate and work closely with a range of internal stakeholders and key staff across CI to cultivate partners, solicit gifts and meet broader organizational fundraising goals.
  • Assist the CI field offices with developing local/regional partnerships that support regional fundraising goals.

Production:

  • Develop Americas annual revenue projections, fiscal year operating and restricted revenue budgets, and contribute to developing overall organization fundraising objectives.
  • Develop creative pitches, proposals, and concepts aligned with Conservation International priorities.
  • Bring creative ideas and entrepreneurial thinking to the task of aligning corporate partner goals and priorities with Conservation International’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify, develop, and promote strategic corporate partnerships, brand licensing and cause marketing relationships in the Americas that allow Conservation International to meet its revenue targets and brand goals.
  • Lead and manage the implementation of the marketing and communication campaigns associated with corporate brands and their agencies, and projects.
  • Identify promotional and communication opportunities that bring continued recognition to key partnerships.

Management and Monitoring:

  • Monitor progress in achieving revenue goals; provide monthly and ad-hoc progress reports
  • Oversee a portfolio of high-value global partnerships in the Americas with leading multi-national corporations and philanthropic foundations, aligned with Conservation International’s mission and strategy.
  • Ensure that partnerships are financially sound, legally documented, and compliant with Conservation International’s approved policies.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Close collaboration with the Corporate Partner Marketing team and the AFD fundraising team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business development, marketing, or related areas.
  • 7 years or more years of experience in developing and executing brand partnership strategies and initiatives.
  • Experience in budget management and financial analysis related to brand partnerships.
  • Experience in identifying and evaluating potential partnership opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
  • Experience in identifying target markets, conducting market research, and developing strategies to enhance brand visibility and reach.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with external partners, such as other brands, organizations, and agencies.
  • Experience in developing marketing and promotional campaigns that leverage brand partnerships effectively.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative brand partnership ideas that align with the organization’s objectives.
  • Proficiency in English is required, excellent communication skills in Spanish and Portuguese highly desired, both written and verbal, including experience in presenting partnership proposals, pitching ideas to stakeholders, and effectively communicating the value and benefits of partnerships.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience working with or for nonprofits a plus.
