The Digital Content Intern will help identify opportunities across nature.org and TNC social media channels to better meet audiences in the 18-44 age range where they are. Through research, creative brainstorming, and writing, the intern will help our global conservation organization increase brand awareness and strengthen brand affinity among younger, more diverse audiences.
The intern will also have the opportunity to create original content on TNC’s website, social platforms and email campaigns. They’ll learn about the inner workings of a highly-visited website while helping improve the user experience. The intern will be an important member of the Global Digital team, reporting to the Senior Digital Content Writer.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Analyze nature.org pages on mobile and provide qualitative feedback on opportunities to improve user experience, voice and tone
- Familiarize oneself with TNC’s analysis of priority audiences between the ages of 18 and 44
- Create competitive analysis of the websites of peer organizations, including other nonprofits
- Identify nature.org articles that could be reformatted into more concise content
- Creatively pitch online content ideas and write for publication, including web articles, Instagram stories and twitter threads
- Contribute ideas and writing to TNC’s social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram
- Create collections of interesting/useful photography within TNC’s photography archive, for use on social media
- Collaborate with the user experience (UX) and social media teams
