Greenpeace International is seeking a hardworking Data Operations Engineer to join our diverse international team, in building a data platform “Cosmos”, which is built on Google Cloud. You will help us to ensure that Greenpeace adopts secure data management practices that facilitate the transfer of data across systems and teams, always respecting the consent of our supporters.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in data engineering or working in data platforms development. It’s a fast paced role that requires skill, passion, and initiative. We are ideally looking for an innovative technologist, able to thrive in a culturally diverse and remote environment, who enjoys working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
This is a full time 2 year position, working closely with our distributed team based in Australia, and The Netherlands.
As Data Operations Engineer, you will:

Develop the integration of major enterprise technology systems and platform projects according to the approach defined by the Technical Architect

Contribute to the development of a data architecture framework, standards and principles including modelling, metadata, security, reference data and master data.

Contribute to the development of organisational data flows to move data securely across departments with a clear overview of any data changes in transition and management of data flows required.

Help ensure data projects results cover the key aspects of excellent data management including, but not limited to, user interfaces, tiered security and access control, data curation, data deduplication, movement and automation.

Research and assist in development of a Data Catalogue through automated catalogue templates

Provide support and maintenance to the system ensuring adherence to professional and high quality coding standards.

Document existing data engineering modules including architecture diagrams for non-technical audience
