BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high-impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.
We are looking for a candidate to lead the communication, marketing, and mediawork in the Middle East region, liaising with the wider Global Communications Team in alignment with BirdLife Global Communication Strategy. This person will design and lead regional communication campaigns as needed and support and contribute to programmes and projects that the regional secretariat is implementing. This includes, but is not limited to the
The ideal candidate will have:
- A university degree or proven equivalent experience in any appropriate discipline e.g. natural sciences, project management, marketing / communications
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and in particular the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a style suitable for the media
- Proven track record of working within an organisational communication
- An ability to market and communicate a conservation cause and the ability to secure buy-in and support from key donors and decision-makers
- Knowledge of the environmental sector in the Middle East / North and East Africa
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Written and spoken fluency in both Arabic and English
