The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the government of the United Kingdom, the United Nations Development Program – UNDP, the Organization of Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon – OPIAC and the National Commission of Indigenous Women – CNMI come together to motivate actions that contribute to the implementation of the country’s agreements in multilateral environmental conventions to avoid transgressing planetary limits, with a differential focus on those territories and most vulnerable and excluded populations.

As part of this commitment, UNDP, together with its allies, is implementing two initiatives: 

• The Climate Promise initiative that begins a second stage and has funding from the United Kingdom Ministry of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), to strengthen and accelerate the implementation of Colombia’s commitments instead climate change and biodiversity, with the participation of indigenous peoples.

• The Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network (BES-Net), funded by the German government’s International Climate Initiative (IKI), seeks to implement the recommendations of the National Assessment of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services published by Colombia in the 2021.
