Description

At the Rainforest Alliance we are looking for an engaging and collaborative Human Resources Associate to provide generalist HR support to the UK office and its employees (50% of time).   The Associate will be well versed in UK employment law and will support on matters relating to compensation and benefits, employee engagement activities, learning & development, recruitment and employee relations.

In addition (50%) the Associate will support the work on HR systems and process administration for the global HR team. Working to advance professionalism, data accuracy and deliver continuous improvement for the team, the Associate will handle HRIS administration, in partnership with the Human Resources Associate, based in the US; support the administration of European HR matters; and, global recruitment activities.

 

To be successful in this role, candidates will possess strong communication and organization skills, as well as a solid grounding in UK HR operations, along with the desire to build positive partnerships with local staff, managers and global colleagues.

Responsibilities:

UK HR Generalist

  •  Handle employee relations matters directly relating to UK-based employees, in coordination with department HR Business Partners as required (HRBP);
  • In partnership with the Senior Associate, Accounts & Administration, manage monthly payroll and benefits administration;
  • Update local HR policies and procedures, as required by local employment law and/or adapting global policies to local reality;
  • Handle recruitment activities for UK based vacancies in partnership with hiring managers (often global); assisting with posting vacancies to relevant UK channels, scheduling and participating in interviews; advising on offers and contracting;
  • Ensure onboarding processes are well implemented and supporting new hires in navigating the organization;
  • Support managers and local employees on performance management and learning & development activities;
  • Manage record keeping for UK staff, in compliance with GDPR (UKGDPR), internal and legislative retention policies;
  • Advise Senior Lead on any matters of non-compliance or HR risk; and
  • Keep up to date with trends and best practices in UK Human Resources activities and present innovative solutions and process improvements. 

HR Systems & Administration

  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date employee data in the HRIS for all European, UK, Africa and Asia employees; coordinating with internal business units to ensure flow-through of information to all systems, as required;
  • In coordination with the HR team, identify and develop process improvements relating to employee data flow and data integrity through the organization;
  • Design and produce reports from HRIS, and other HR systems;
  • Handle employee pulse survey administration, and support in producing quarterly reports for leadership and all-staff;
  • Assist in codifying current HR department processes and work to streamline and develop procedural guidelines to reflect various departmental practices in the organization;
  • Support in the research, development and testing of new HRIS, and other systems; providing training to HR team as required;
  • Assist with global recruitment related responsibilities; including: uploading vacancies to applicant tracking system; occasional scheduling of interviews;
  • Maintain oversight of HR intranet (Confluence) pages, ensuring information is relevant and current and managing archive.
