Join UNEP for an online multistakeholder consultation to discuss the draft Core Human Rights Principles for Private Conservation Actors (available for download in Word or PDF format).
These Principles are designed to guide private conservation actors in their efforts to uphold internationally recognized human rights within the sphere of conservation activities, with particular emphasis on the rights of Indigenous Peoples, women, girls, children, and youth.
The objective of the consultation is to discuss the draft Human Rights Principles for Conservation Actors with participants and explore avenues for effective implementation of these Principles. Participants will hear from Astrid Puentes, UN Special Rapporteur on the human right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment, as well as representatives of Indigenous Peoples, Funders, and Conservation Organizations. There will also be opportunities for participants to share their views and provide input during a general discussion.
A detailed agenda and additional information will be shared upon registration.
