Dr Silviu Petrovan will discuss some examples of work he has done over the past few years, with several projects focusing on amphibians from his time as Head of Conservation at Froglife Trust, and some current and still unpublished work. Together with colleagues he developed new technology and monitoring methods and combined them with citizen science to improve our understanding of species trends, conservation mitigation or ecological traits.
Silviu will highlight surprising gaps in knowledge of species ecology for otherwise well studied species as well as how this links with urgently needed conservation action in the face of climate change.
