Nearly 80 organizations from across Trinidad and Tobago, including scientific research institutions, grassroot organizations and Ministries, will gather virtually for the launch of Phase II of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network-Trinidad and Tobago (or BES-Net TT project). The project calls for the need to urgently protect, conserve and manage pollinator species such as bees, butterflies and bats, critical to Trinidad and Tobago’s food, agriculture and biodiversity. The project also recognizes Trinidad and Tobago as being among the first recipients of the BES Solution Fund, a catalytic seed fund deployed with the support of UNDP.
