DOST-PCAARRD invites you to an insightful webinar, Yamang Saribuhay: Unlocking the Potential of Philippine Genetic Resources, where the focus will be on rediscovering Bicolandia’s “nearly forgotten crops.” The Bicol Region is home to a variety of indigenous vegetables, root crops, and fruits, yet these underutilized resources have been overshadowed by modernization and habitat loss.
Funded by DOST-PCAARRD, this initiative led by the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) explores native crops across six provinces in Bicol. With an emphasis on varieties that thrive in home gardens and provide accessible food sources, this project promises fresh insights into the diversity and culinary potential of these crops, especially as climate-resilient options.
