Hosted by UNDP, the Global Environment Facility, CBD Secretariat, and partners including Belize, Costa Rica, the Philippines, and Zambia, the event will highlight success stories from countries implementing biodiversity finance plans. It will explore achievements in finance and policy while discussing how to integrate finance into new National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) aligned with the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

UNDP will also launch the BIOFIN 2024 Workbook, which presents a decade of lessons learned from over 41 countries. The 91 new countries joining UNDP BIOFIN under the GEF “Umbrella Program for National Biodiversity Plans” will use this tool to:

• Conduct policy and institutional reviews on biodiversity finance
• Estimate national biodiversity expenditures
• Assess harmful and positive incentives
• Develop comprehensive national biodiversity finance plans
