World leaders are meeting in Paris for the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-2). The session will see UN member states negotiate the fine print of the UN Plastics Treaty but, with plastic production set to double by 2040, the crisis facing island nations is only set to get worse.
Searious Business, together with Common Seas and others, are organising a side event at the INC-2 in Paris, in the upcoming week, to discuss the challenges that Small Island Developing states (SIDs) and remote communities face from plastic pollution, and more importantly, to highlight potential solutions, sharing results from our Blueprint for a Plastic Waste Free Island, which we developed together with IUCN.
