Trialogue for the countries supported by the BES Solution Fund

View Event Nigeria’s ecosystem diversity ranges from semi-arid savannah to mountains, seasonal floodplains, rainforests, freshwater swamps and coastal and marine ecosystems. The Niger Delta in Nigeria has the largest expanse of mangroves in Africa.
- Nigeria participated in the Anglophone Africa Regional Trialogue organized under BES-Net I in Nairobi in May 2019, leveraging the IPBES Pollinators Assessment to enhance the understanding and involvement of local communities in plant-pollinator conservation.
- Under BES-Net II, Nigeria is receiving catalytic support through the BES Solution Fund to implement key priority national actions identified during the Trialogue. The initiative has been actively supporting the improvement of public awareness on the importance of pollinators for ecosystem health, biodiversity and food security and the ongoing development of national strategies on pollinators and integrated pest management.
