As Monitoring, Evaluation and Learing (MEL) Coordinator you will revolutionize how we measure and enhance the success of our conservation efforts. Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop MEL frameworks that capture the global impact of our conservation programs.
  • Provide coordination and support for site-based projects and regional MEL staff to address M&E needs.
  • Conduct regular field visits to support projects and ensure alignment of global impact evaluation and site-level MEL needs.
  • Coordinate the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to assess global program performance and conservation impact.
  • Identify and document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from global conservation efforts.
  • Develop and maintain global MEL data structures and systems to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Facilitate the organization’s learning processes, including developing standard procedures, training sessions, and contributing to fundraising and strategy efforts, to foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive management.

Education, Skills and Other Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in environmental studies, conservation, biology, geography, public administration, law, international affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years (preferably 5+) in MEL within an international context, ideally in the conservation sector.
  • Knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines, and MEL methods.
  • Extensive experience with qualitative and quantitative data from diverse sources.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; German, Spanish, or French is a plus.
  • Ability to design and implement training at various levels.
  • Quick comprehension and the ability to present complex facts simply and briefly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites worldwide, sometimes in remote and challenging environments.
