Description

Scottish Wildlife Trust seasonal Aberdeenshire Ranger would like volunteers to help undertake practical tasks, such as strimming, control of invasive species, boardalk repair on our reserves in North Aberdeenshire: Gight Wood, Longhaven Cliffs, Red Moss of Netherley, Coulnacraig Meadow.

Tasks:

Tasks will cover a range of conservation and reserve management activities which may include path and access management, control of invasive and undesirable vegetation, tree felling, boardwalk maintenance, grassland
management and monitoring.

Volunteers will use a range of hand tools. All supervision and instruction will be provided by the Ranger.

Attributes, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Volunteers must be relatively fit and be able to walk moderate distances on uneven terrain.
  • You must be prepared to undertake physical work in the outdoors sometimes in poor weather.
  • Ideally you would need your own transport to meet the ranger on site or be able to travel to Westhill from
    where a lift will be available.

What we are looking for:

  • Availability over the spring & summer season
  • Able to offer 1-2 days per week
  • Happy to undertake physical work in all weathers
