Therefore, this role requires thorough understanding of both the regulatory fast changing context, as well as internal landscape to meet DLLs targets.
As Nature/ Biodiversity Risk Consultant, you will support driving the Risk function with focused responsibility for Nature Risk while contributing the establishment of DLL nature risk plan and its implementation . You will be responsible for delivering insight about the nature risks in our global portfolio and will guide the stakeholders for ensuring the adequate implementation of nature risk framework. The role also requires you to translate requirements from laws & regulations to the actions aligned with DLL business models, in which the business can execute in alignment with vendors and end-users.
Finally, the role requires competences to effectively engage with internal as well as external stakeholders and skills to build internal awareness and external and thought leadership, in a context that can include competing aspirations between DLLs business growth and reduction of environmental footprint.
Responsibilities
- Develop Nature Risk Roadmap for embedding nature risks in our risk management framework and identify action points for execution of the plan
- Support the calculation of nature footprint of our asset portfolio in conjugation with Rabobank methodology
- Support the implementation of ECB’s expectations on Climate and Environmental Risk alongside with the TNFD recommendations and follow the relevant research to identify the improvement points in the execution of the roadmaps.
- Identify and assess DLL’s nature risks drivers and report the main nature risk metrics to internal stakeholders and committees
- Support the coordination of the integration of nature risk assessment into all the material risks
- Assist the development of communication and learning & development materials regarding nature risk
- Analyze required and available nature risk data within DLL, interacting with the business and the financial team. Jointly develop nature calculations and measurement tools for translating the findings to sectors/portfolio/assets strategies.
- Support the preparation of memos for a wide variety of stakeholders regarding the nature risk in our portfolio, and what DLL is required to do for assuring the compliance with the regulatory requirement and external commitments.
- Support the disclosure of climate and environmental risks in line with CSRD, in cooperation with the financial team.
Minimum Requirements
- A pre-requisite for the job is a strong foundational knowledge in the field of nature & biodiversity, with preferably a proven ability to translate theory into practice.
- 2-5 years of relevant working experience in business strategy, sustainability and/or finance
- An intrinsic motivation to care about climate and sustainability
- Strong knowledge of regulatory climate risk related items and strong knowledge of DLL’s business
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Sensitivity to the expectations and demands from society, regulators and other stakeholders, both in The Netherlands and the countries DLL is active.

The role covers a global scope and relates to all BUs, as well as other departments in strategic advice, collaboration, and a monitoring role.
