Description

The Operations and Community Outreach Specialist working with the Director of People and Operations as part of the operations team for the Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter will coordinate operations administrative functions for the chapter and support the volunteer and community outreach program in the northeast region of Pennsylvania.  The purpose of this role is to leverage meaningful outdoor experiences that connect people to nature and the work of The Nature Conservancy as a way of building support for our mission and advancing our goals. 

Through the building of reciprocal and inclusive relationships with partners and communities, the Operations and Community Outreach Specialist will serve as a “brand ambassador”, planning and executing the logistics for events, meetings, reception, and facilities management of the Hauser Nature Center.  In addition, they will implement administrative tasks related to operations support, including processing forms, preparing reports, implementing trainings, processes, and practices to improve effectiveness for staff, donors, volunteers, and community members for the Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter.  Responsibilities will also include responding to inquiries about program activities, creating program materials, providing information necessary to make decisions and solve problems, drafting correspondence to staff, donors, volunteers, and community members, and facility management of the Hauser Nature Center. 

This position requires travel and working flexible hours including weekends and evenings, as needed. The work will be performed in a general office setting and outdoor settings with only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

This position will be based in Northeast Pennsylvania with an expectation of commuting proximity to the Hauser Nature Center in Long Pond, PA.  Candidates should expect regular travel for community partnership meetings in the Northeast Pennsylvania region.

The salary range for this position is $50,500-$52,500.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience coordinating administrative processes.
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting data.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working across teams and communicating with a wide range of people.
  • Communication and public speaking experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience managing volunteers and/or teams.
  • Experienced in community relations or relationship building.
  • Must meet all TNC Youth Qualification requirements and background checks.
