The Assistant Director of Donor Communications is responsible for leading and implementing the development and production of high quality and compelling communications materials for The Nature Conservancy’s principal gift-level donors and writing and editing materials in support of the organization’s global conservation priorities.

The position reports to the Director of Donor Communications, Global Wealth Markets. The Global Wealth Markets are dispersed teams based in New York City, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Cape Town, and other major U.S. cities that strategically align fundraising opportunities and needs across the international organization to increase resourcing for conservation and climate work at a global scale. This position will have a special focus and responsibility for a set of geographically proximate markets within a region, for instance Singapore, Hong Kong, and India.

The Assistant Director of Donor Communications is primarily responsible for leading development and production of communications materials to engage, solicit and steward individual and institutional donors with the capacity to give at the $500K+ level. This position coordinates closely with the Director of Donor Communications, Global Wealth Markets, and with Donor Communications professionals in TNC’s geographic regions (Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa etc.) with a special focus on supporting writing needs for 1-2 regions/markets, likely including Singapore, Hong Kong, and India. This position helps edit the work of other writers to ensure consistency and strongest message and oversees the sharing of resources and materials across the organization, seeking efficiencies.

The Assistant Director helps achieve the strategic priorities of the entire Global Wealth Markets team. This position manages independent projects and timelines with the Director and others and helps problem-solve. They coordinate with teams in the U.S. and internationally to learn and share priorities, best language, and organizational messages and leverage this knowledge to produce and help others produce materials that maximize new fundraising opportunities. In addition to the GWM team, this person may work with any of the following: members of the TNC/WO Donor Relations Team, Principal Gifts and other fundraisers, conservation program staff in regions or at the global level, and writers and coordinators in dispersed countries. They will provide advice related to donor communications practices and workflow, in addition to leading on small projects.
