On 29 June 2022 (16:00-17:15 WEST), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea are co-organizing Plastics and Marine Pollution: Innovations for SDG 14.1.
This side event at the UN Ocean Conference will focus on finding solutions to marine plastic and other pollution issues at the national and global level. Experts from governments, international organizations, civil societies and academia will deliver diverse perspectives on marine plastic pollution with science and evidence-based insights, policy and business solutions to address marine plastic challenges.
The event is an opportunity for Small Island Developing States learn from examples and case studies presented, such as the Extended Producer Responsibility Scheme in the Maldives and other examples.
