We are happy to announce the upcoming event and launch of the Sustainable Ocean Economy Country Diagnostics of Cabo Verde, which will take place virtually on 31 May, 14h30 – 16h CET, and will be co-hosted by the Government of Cabo Verde, Portugal, and the OECD. For further details, please find the agenda and concept note attached.
The global COVID-19 pandemic and more recently the effects of the war in Ukraine have considerably affected Small Island Developing States by hitting at the heart of backbone economic sectors, such as international tourism and export fisheries. Cabo Verde was no exception.
Therefore the launch of this report will present new data and a comprehensive, cross-cutting analysis of Cabo Verde’s ocean economy, with the aim of spotlighting a pathway towards sustainable recovery for Small Island Developing States. The OECD Sustainable Ocean Economy Country Diagnostics of Cabo Verde is part of the OECD Sustainable Ocean for All initiative and was prepared with financial support from Portugal.
