RMI is seeking a Grant Analyst who will serve a key support role administering restricted grants at RMI. Reporting to and working closely with the Grant Manager, this position will provide day-to-day oversight of philanthropic grants, review proposal budgets, prepare financial reports, maintain grant records, and support program and development teams throughout the lifecycle of each grant.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor incoming donations and maintain grant records and accounting grant details within NetSuite and Salesforce
- Assist with grant proposal submissions including development and review of budget proposals and justification
- Provide guidance and resources to program and development teams during the proposal process, ensuring that grant budgets and agreements adhere to RMI’s organizational policies
- Prepare grant and revenue budget/reporting tools for internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for scheduling and leading grant kickoff meetings with the program team to review grant and contract obligations, terms, and reporting requirements.
- Throughout the life of the grant, conduct regular internal monitoring of grant activity and work in partnership with project management staff to troubleshoot and resolve any accounting issues as necessary
- Prepare monthly journal entries to record grant expenses and institutional overhead; assist with proper grant releases and review of accounting activity related to restricted funding
- Maintain effective recordkeeping and documentation for each grant to be used for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Assist program and development teams with grant closeouts.
- Participate and assist in preparation and execution of reviews, audits, and evaluations.
- Conduct routine compliance reviews of grant awards.
- Identify and help implement process and procedural changes to improve efficiency and internal controls
- Assist with internal grant management training sessions as needed
