Home-based and under the supervision of the Global Engagement and Executive Communications Officer, the Digital Communications and Events Assistant will support the creation and implementation of social media plans and campaign, content creation for blogs, articles, talking points and other products, and monitoring. In addition, he/she will support planning and execution of events for the Alliance and OneCGIAR. This includes engagement in large-scale strategic events and/or processes such as those related to international Frameworks and UN Conventions (UNFCCC, UNCBD, UNCCD, CFS, etc.).
Responsibilities
More specifically, the Assistant will:
- Support the creation and updating of a shared calendar of key events for the Alliance/OneCGIAR
- Support the planning, management, execution, and digital promotion of events (in-person and virtual), seminars, webinar, etc.
- Support the development of social media messages for senior management’s social media plans
- Support content creation and drafting of speaking points, presentations, think pieces, op-ed articles, briefs and background materials for events and meetings
- Support creation of visual content, social messages for mini-campaigns, or blogs
- Support coverage of high-level events and takeaway through social media and blogs
- Assist in other communication and external engagement tasks and initiatives as assigned by the Digital Communications Team and the Global Engagement and Executive Communications Officer
