The Manager, Social Program coordinates Rainforest Alliance’s strategy and implementation of programs on social issues in Turkey including the Rainforest Alliance Standard’s social requirements. The postholder contributes to program, project and proposal design and development for social issues in the region. The Manager, Social Program works in close collaboration with the Associate, Social program and with other team member in Turkey as well as topic specialists such as Child labor experts in the organization. The postholder leads the development of training and learning opportunities and materials on social issues in the region.
The Manager, Social Program reports to the Director, Turkey.
Responsibilities:
- The Rainforest Alliance’s Core Values are Impact, Change, Collaboration, Openness and Trust and as such they form the basis of the behaviors we demonstrate;
- Country strategy development to support embedding and further developing working and living conditions in the agricultural supply chain sector in Turkey;
- Coordinate strategic interventions to prevent child labor;
- Promotion of sector wide change;
- Strategic Stakeholder management;
- Assist in building strategic alliances with stakeholders to advance the Rainforest Alliance child labor approach and represent Rainforest Alliance at relevant events, networks and platforms;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of project proposals and events related to social issues with partners and potential fundraising partners;
- In collaboration with other departments and stakeholders, including Rainforest Alliance certificate holders, develop proposals and implement activities to improve working and living conditions;
- Align with the child labor experts, forced labor experts and gender experts to ensure alignment with corporate policy and strategies on these themes;
- Identify intervention opportunities related to working and living conditions in close collaboration with the team in Turkey;
- Support public affairs and communication activities of the hazelnut program and other products.
