Description

The Systems Analyst ensures that system hardware, operating systems, maintenance, security, and recovery procedures adhere to IT standards and values.  They have a primary focus of Microsoft Operating Systems, Meraki, and other network technologies. They are responsible for one or more back-end systems management tools including but not limited to cloud data backup, hardware and firmware monitoring, systems status monitoring and alerting, and patch management systems. This position assists in assessing existing field office technical infrastructure including file servers, firewalls, switches and WAPs. Performs cost and usage analysis, and provides recommendations for enhancing the functionality, performance, security and/or cost-effectiveness of network and local data storage systems. The Systems Analyst will work with colleagues to continually develop and improve the OU server platform to maintain a highly functional, stable, secure, environment that evolves as TNC business needs change. The position utilizes project management skills and related methodologies to drive successful completion of work and contributes to project teams as assigned.  Develops training and documentation for teammates and other IT staff to use in supporting systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor globally distributed field office Microsoft-based file servers; provide support, including investigation and troubleshooting.
  • Manage backup operations, ensuring all required file and system data are successfully backed up to appropriate media (NAS and cloud-based); periodically perform recovery tests to ensure backup integrity and system recoverability.
  • Maintain back-end server and network management and monitoring systems.
  • Assist in developing budgeting and planning materials and recommendations.
  • Develop, document, follow and update existing installation, maintenance, security, configuration, change management, training, reference and technical design procedures and documents.
  • Provide support of local and wide area networks, utilizing network monitoring tools where necessary to troubleshoot and maintain network availability & security.
  • Utilize remote support tools to troubleshoot and maintain field office network equipment and file servers.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, software, and software licenses for the offices and/or systems the position is responsible for.
  • Perform routine support and maintenance activities that drive reliability, performance, supportability, and security of infrastructure.
  • Automate routine tasks for deployment, configuration, and monitoring for all the above.
  • Use collaboration tools effectively to work with team and to keep others informed.
