POSITION SUMMARY

The Conservation International Digital Strategist reports to the Marketing Director and supports departmental and organization-wide goals of brand awareness growth, community building, and fundraising.

This person has a strong writing background with a passion for digital marketing and campaigns. 

They will serve as the primary contact for evaluating and fulfilling brand campaign film usage requests and supporting proactive distribution outreach efforts and events.  The Strategist will collaborate with Conservation International’s global offices in the proper use of campaign assets to ensure brand alignment, involving the creative agency and other departments as needed.

The Digital Strategist will support the Director on integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives in order to maximize campaign performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaigns & Projects

Support the planning and execution of 2-4 marketing campaigns or projects (varying sizes) per quarter under the direction of the Marketing Director and VP of Marketing, including the timely coordination of project deliverables with relevant channel managers and team leads.

Serve as liaison, in collaboration with the Director, between B+C, agencies, and partners with the marketing team on contracts, coordination with legal, creative briefs, production logistics, and talent management.

Brand Campaign Globalization

Support the Marketing Director with the strategy and coordination of global rollout of Conservation International campaigns, working with country teams on the creative, production, and distribution processes, and Development leads for creation of funding strategies and materials. Drive, alongside the Director, collaboration with Partner Marketing and Development teams to raise funds in support of campaign activities. Produce donor reports and updates.

Film Distribution

Coordinate maintenance and support distribution of brand campaign film assets. Review and recommend 2 new or returning/expanding distribution opportunities per quarter; consider innovative distribution opportunities such as TV program integration, media partnerships, etc.

Research, Writing, and Video

Support the Marketing Director with written external communication products including written products and social videos. Some time in the portfolio will include ideation, creation, and execution of social media video products in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.  

Monitor and synthesize the latest trends in global branding and Conservation International competitor branding and marketing efforts, collecting examples from both the non-profit and for-profit space and sharing them with the brand management team on a monthly basis.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • -This position is based in Arlington, VA, or may work remotely. 
  • -Normal office environment.
  • -List any unique conditions, including how much travel (domestic and international) is expected, if the position requires heavy lifting, diving certification, climbing, etc.
