As IPBES-8 approaches, stakeholders will again have the opportunity to meet during the Caucus Day to work on the organization of the Open-ended Network of IPBES Stakeholders and its activities, and the Stakeholder Days to focus on the IPBES plenary. We encourage interested parties to attend both events. You will receive more information on how to register for Caucus Day in the coming days.
It has been common practice that the IPBES Stakeholders present a brief statement during the opening session of the IPBES Plenary meetings. Your inputs should feed into the discussion of the elements of the opening statement at the ONet Caucus Day planned for May 31st, and the IPBES Stakeholders Days from June 3rd to 9th, 2021.

Normally the final drafting of the opening statement is done on IPBES Stakeholders Day, However, because of the limitations we have due to the virtualization of the event, we are aiming to make as much progress as possible before the event.
What do we need from you? We kindly ask you to send us by May 19th, a few words summarizing your proposals on key topics to be addressed in the opening statement. With your input, the ONet facilitation team, will generate a poll that will help us to select and align the ideas that have the widest support in our community and that will help us arrive on the day of the event better prepared.
