Description

Based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Asia Pacific Director of Marketing and Communications, the Director of Marketing–Hong Kong will serve as a team leader and strategist who develops and implements breakthrough marketing strategies that build local and regional awareness of TNC. Leading with a cohesive message and culturally tailored brand experiences, the Director will spark interest in and support for TNC, forge new partnerships, and inspire conservation action for new people and places.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

  • Build a network of new relationships (e.g., creative agencies, media buyers, corporate and media partners, influencers and key opinion leaders) and strengthen existing relationships to lay the groundwork for a long-term, go-to-market strategy in Hong Kong, in line with the division’s strategic plan.
  • Lead efforts to grow the digital presence of the Hong Kong program (e.g., TNC’s main website, TNC’s Hong Kong website, Hong Kong social media channels, influencer program development, membership program) and manage a small team responsible for content creation and performance analysis.
  • Partner with philanthropy and other departments on an in-person events strategy in Hong Kong targeted at HNWIs and corporate partners.
  • Provide thought leadership and implement strategy to raise the profile of executive staff, and position TNC as an innovative conservation brand and communicator.
  • Work collaboratively with other organizational departments (e.g., marketing and communications, philanthropy, membership, conservation) to ensure optimal representation of TNC–Asia Pacific and Hong Kong in global TNC campaigns.
  • Drive brand awareness through innovative strategies tied to external, high-profile opportunities (e.g., Beijing 2022 Olympics) in collaboration with other TNC–Asia Pacific divisions (such as Mainland China), partner NGOs and creative agencies.
  • Strive to be resourceful and inventive, working across TNC and its array of partners, from local communities to like-minded NGOs and corporate partners.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • TNC has made measurable progress in building our brand profile in Hong Kong through activations that introduce the organization to/reinforce our conservation credentials with HNWIs and mass market audiences key to our success.
  • TNC–Asia Pacific has developed new, meaningful relationships with key opinion leaders (with a preference for pro bono relationships) who leverage their visibility and digital presence to promote TNC’s important work.
  • Engagement on digital platforms and social media accounts (existing and new) measurably increases.
  • Inclusive engagement advanced with an array of new stakeholders that include young and diverse advocates and thought leaders, joined together in support of TNC’s mission.
  • Meaningful contributions made to a broader regional marketing and communications roadmap that guides TNC’s journey as it generates resources and activates a regional community to protect land, water, and people—especially those people most vulnerable to the destructive effects of climate change and biodiversity loss.
