Description

This role requires excellent organizational skills, experience with diplomatic outreach to partners and stakeholders, strength in GIS analysis, and comfort facilitating productive, efficient engagement across a decentralized team of TNC staff and contractors. This position will play an essential role in the success of a passionate, dedicated, and multi-faceted team. This is a full-time, 12-week, temporary position that begins in July 2021 and ends in September 2021.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Provides centralized coordination and project management for high priority freshwater projects, including coordination of team meetings, communications and task tracking. Coordinates multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
  • Assists and/or leads in organizing meetings with partners, technical experts, stakeholder representatives and/or stakeholder associations to gather input and additional information on priority freshwater projects.
  • Develops relationships and allies while completing work tasks that support priority freshwater projects including generating new contacts with organizations, agencies, stakeholders and scientists.
  • Works and communicates effectively with a diverse group of people, including scientists and others, providing and obtaining needed information.
  • May assist freshwater team with GIS analyses or use of spatial decision-support tools to promote stakeholder collaboration and planning.
  • May administer outgoing contracts to support priority freshwater projects. Ensures adherence to relevant TNC SOPs and any pertinent federal and/or state requirements.
  • May assist with program budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Resolves routine issues independently and makes day-to-day decisions as delegated by the supervisor.
  • May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.
