The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is a policy and action research organisation promoting sustainable development and linking local priorities to global challenges. We are based in London and work on five continents with some of the world’s most vulnerable people to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them. With more than 100 members of staff working with associates and partners around the world, IIED has been at the forefront of policymaking in sustainable development for over 40 years.
IIED’s Climate Change Group (CCG) works with those who have less voice and power in climate decision-making to co-create solutions that shape pathways and drive action for a just and sustainable future.
CCG’s Global Climate Law, Policy and Governance Team works to support the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and other vulnerable developing countries to achieve equitable and ambitious outcomes in global climate decision making. We help push for rules that will deliver commitments to keep us below a 1.5°C rise in global temperatures through compelling evidence and by enhancing countries’ ability to engage. Our capacity-strengthening support helps LDCs and other vulnerable developing countries to engage fully and meaningfully in the UN negotiating process and climate diplomacy. We also help strengthen national climate legislation, policies and institutions to integrate multilateral decisions and complement collective action.
We are now looking for a Researcher to join the Global Climate Law, Policy and Governance Team within the CCG Group for a fixed-term contract.
